It's cold. It's really cold. School is canceled yet again. For those of you who need a fun distraction try these:
- Take a cup of hot water outside and throw it into the air (away from you, of course) and watch as the water instantly vaporizes instead of hitting the ground!
- Bubbles (the kind for blowing on warm summer days with the kids) when they land on the ground in the sub-zero will shatter. Try it.
We did both. In the dark. No photographic evidence. Maybe we will again today and manage to snap a photo or two. Have a bit of frigid fun.
In case you'd like to do something a bit warmer, today also happens to be a "Free Hugs Day". If you're unfamiliar, check out the Free Hugs Campaign page. There are a lot of videos (some official, some not) but my favorite is this one that was used in conjunction with another campaign.
Celia included it on her blog months ago. Whenever I feel a bit "punky" I like to watch it. And today, a free hug may be just the ticket to help keep warm!
I'm sending you and the girls a ((cyber-hug))!! It's darn cold outside (7 degrees this morning with below zero windchill), I'm not used to this at all...

Thanks for sharing the Frigid Fun tips. It gives me a reason to look forward to 20 below zero!

Winter has been cancelled here in sunny California. Temps in the high 60s and people are hanging out in sidewalk cafes. I know, it's a hard knocks life but we are bearing up under the strain. I'd forgotten about that little inspirational video. Thanks for re-posting it!

Keep warm, Bobbi! I'm half tempted to go outside and try the hot water trick right now, but my radiators just kicked on and it's so nice and cozy in here right now. I've been so glad that my 8-year old car has been starting like a champ on these cold days.
