In between celebrations, I've been working on a Secret Pal project. This is a first...working on a project during the exchange that my Pal has sent.
Meet Cozy. Since I didn't have a project ready when the Plain Jane socks were finished, it seemed timely to start knitting the yarn my Secret Pal had sent.
First, I did some research (because that's what I do) and found some better photos of what a finished Cozy looks like. Then I worked to knit up the first skein to see if there would be enough yarn.
Notice the white paper. The printed instructions were a bit small for my eyes so I "blew up" the 8 row repeat instructions. (Signs that I must be aging...in case we needed some.)
I've finished the first skein (yes, there won't be a problem having enough yarn). As of tonight I'm midway through the second (of four) balls of yarn. Unfortunately, I've discovered an error was made near the end of the first ball. I refuse to go back now and fix it. I'll know it's there, but the world in general won't. It's lace, I can live with error. Another first.
Note: I know about lifelines, but decided that since this was a small pattern not to use one. Hopefully that won't be another error.
Cozy will be perfect in red!!!
I often "blow up" my charts/patterns AND wear my old lady reading glasses!

Pretty-Pretty! I love the red! Yeah...I know all about the bad eyesight business! Glasses last year for me!
Consider it your Amish mistake...my grandmother taught me that *rule* and I live by it (if the mistake isn't too bad)...

I love the Amish mistake rule too!! I have one in the dreamy cable misti alpaca scarf I am working on for ME right now. Love the questions, learned some things I didn't know.

Cozy's looking beautiful! I fixed the link to the Falling Water lace scarf pattern on my blog. The only caveat I have so far is that I might add one more repeat of the lace pattern to get a wider scarf. We'll see how it blocks, though -- it might be perfect as is.
