Nearly two months since my last pair of grown-up socks! Sure, since the last pair there were two pair of baby socks and several other knits, as well as plenty of sleeve knitting to keep me busy.
But, finally, a labor of love. A new design for the sock yarn my Mom knew would challenge me; elastic. I LOVE it!
Unlike other designers who are able to sketch their designs; I knit my designs making notes along the way. Then, for the second sock, I make any needed modifications. (In the case of this sock, the first sock was 58 sts and the second 56.) Then I type up the instructions from my notes and test knit a second pair.
For the second pair, I plan to test the pattern to see if it can be used for other, non-elastic brands. First up, the blue Trekking XXL. Soon, there will be another sock pattern ready for publishing. If you've knit the first pair (free pattern in the sidebar), send me a photo and I'll see that you get a copy of the next pattern and a "treat". Here's hoping this pair returns me to sock regularity.
I design exactly the same way. I like to take notes, usually a few steps ahead of where I am at. Then once I get there I rewrite. I like things in pairs too since the second one can be perfect and a good way to run through the pattern again.

I am sort of computer stupid. I really love the pattern for the sock. How do I get it? You said it was in the sidebar but, like I said, I am computer stupid and can't find it. By the way, Happy Birthday. Cuz didn't mention it and if she did, it didn't sink in.
