It's taken a week, but last night I finally managed to stay up until 10 PM without falling over and/or waking up tucked in on the couch. (Yes, someone in my house, upon seeing me sleeping, always decides to tuck me in under a blanket!) This morning, however, my eyes were once again open at 5:17. But, the early wake up doesn't bother me. In fact, the quiet house and early hour has allowed me to get some work done, some blogging done (have you noticed the regularity!?!), and even some packing done. This time shift is okay.
And now, I'm going to say something controversial: I don't even mind the shift that has affected our summer.
Most August 22nds we wake to 80+ degrees. I hate hot! I hate sweating, air conditioning, and electricity bills (for the a/c)! I love windows open, "sleeping weather", warm socks (duh!), and not sweating (except when physically exerting myself)!!
This has been a perfect summer for me. In fact, the hot weather happened around here while I was in Amsterdam. Wasn't that nice of the weather to demonstrate its summertime abilities while I wasn't around!?! (I know there are those of you reading this who will bemoan the fact that there has been a serious lack of summer, but too bad...this is my opinion and my blog...just saying. However, feel free to complain about the weather in the comments section...if it helps for you to get it off your chest, I'm willing to share my blog in service for your needs.)
In fact, the cooler weather makes it much easier to knit. And since it seems my time shift has appeared, the second sock may get finished yet!
