There it is...it's official...I'm back to being a "Kraft." (Gee, did you even know that's where the name for my blog came from!?! Even in high school I was known as "Krafty"!) Wednesday was all about name changes...DMV, social security, even the cable company all wanted to see my divorce papers. I was happy to oblige.
Some have asked how I made the decision to go back to my maiden name. It was actually an easy one to make; the girls suggested it...even the ex didn't want his name, why should I keep it!?! You see, when the three of us went to Europe and he stayed home, we joked that if the plane fell out of the sky that he could sell everything and move to Scotland. He said that he'd change his name too since he wasn't fond of his family anyway and didn't want to keep the "family name". So, there was no question as to which name I'd want at the end of my journey this past year!
I am SO proud of my family! My name is actually my adopted name...I was chosen to be a "Kraft." In German, it means "strength". My family has given me a great deal of that over the past year and I have found my own strength as well! Someday, if a good man comes along, I won't be changing it again. Then again, if he's a good man, he will understand!
Bonus: Wednesday is also Market Day...that means fresh flowers! What better way to mark the day! (Especially after ALL the flowers I saw in Amsterdam.)
Tomorrow: the knitting results of travel.
