First, THANK YOU...THANK YOU...THANK YOU...to all of my cheerleaders. Your cheers made knitting this pair of socks especially fun!
I ended up finishing 9th...only 8 knitters per division move forward. My division, For Whom the Ball Rolls (FWTBR), was filled with AWESOME knitters. (Kiwa, Dyveke...that means you guys...congrats on making it to Round 5!) Not to disparage the other divisions, but historically FWTBR would fill the open spots LONG before the other divisions. (Even now there are still openings in the other divisions.)
However, I'm not sad about not making it through. In fact, I'm SO proud of finishing as well as I did when I look at the caliber of competitor within the FWTBR division! There are some megastars in the group!!!
As I see it, I finished exactly where I needed to finish. Move forward or not...it's exactly where I should be. Since I didn't move forward, maybe now the house will sell and I'll be too busy moving instead of knitting the future rounds. That sure would be nice.
Lemonade out of lemons; that's how we like to look at things. Or in this case, my very own pair of Lucky Diamonds. (That's right, this round I knit for moi! What a nice souvenir!)

I was sooo disappointed when number 8 finished yesterday and you were nowhere to be seen. I kept refreshing the flickr group hoping to see your socks. But as you said, our division is something else - I'm sure both the winner and the runner up is among us.
Hope the last few days brought you a big step closer to selling your house, I can imagine that being a tad more important than the sock madness right now.
Btw I'm sure you'll make a great comeback in the next madness - I know how fast you are when life stays out of your sock knitting :-)
The socks are beautiful, and I'm sure they go well with both black and brown shoes...

Holy cow, those are gorgeous! You're a sock knitting goddess in my book, no matter which # you placed.
Best of luck with the house!

The socks are stunners. And a bonus: I bet they're unique enough that you couldn't possibly wear two different ones at once!

The socks are truly amazing, as is your attitude regarding your place. Fingers crossed about the house.
