Sock Swap
Friday is Show & Tell for the Hogwarts Sock Swap. We are supposed to post our progress in an effort to earn points for our houses- mine's Ravenclaw.
The thing is, ever since the start, I've been keeping my eye out for "the perfect" hand-dyed yarn- without success. I even considered using the flavored drink tutorial to make my own yarn. Basically, I needed to order something...anything to get the ball rolling.
However, from the very beginning I had something specific in mind. And then I went to the llama farm and look at what magically apparated on the shelf in front of me.! From the very beginning, I've been thinking of knitting something like this or this for my pal. I especially like the different colored toes on Eunny's version. I can't wait to test the newest version for jogless stripes.
Like Hermione, once I set my mind to something, it's hard to distract me from the goal. This weekend's goal is all about the socks. (A timeturner would be a nice addition to my knitting bag.) The beads are collected for Panda to make stitch markers and by this time next week a parcel will be winging its way via USPS Owl Post. Sock needles raised, "Transmogrify!" Didn't work...guess I'll use the muggle method...see you Monday.
Note: Casey is feeling fine and returned to school to torment the boys. She enjoyed reading all of the comments that were left for her! This weekend is a holiday weekend in the US and, like many others, I'll be taking a blogging break until Monday. See you then.

Those jogless stripes seem complicated! If they work, you'll have to let me know, and maybe I can convert! (Not that I've knit anything with stripes recently...but I might want to.)

Have a great weekend. Good to hear Casey is doing much better...ouch!
I'll be off to the mountains for a spot of camping (and knitting to my hearts content).

Even though you found the right yarn you really should try out dyeing with KoolAid. I tried it last week and it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately you can't get Kool Aid in Denmark but my SP10 send me some.
